2D Laser Cutting Machine Features 8 kW Solid State Laser

Trumpf’s TruLaser 8000 laser cuts sheet metal ranging to 52 ft. in length. Designed for companies processing large parts or job shops expanding their capacity, the laser cutter is available with two different pallet concepts and six format sizes ranging from 8 × 20 ft. to 8 × 52 ft. The 2D laser cutting machine offers a 0.2" increase in maximum thickness for mild steel and stainless steel so that users can process material as thick as 1" using a 6-kW laser. The single Face Milling Inserts cutting-head strategy makes it possible to cut all material thicknesses without changing the head, the company says. A high-efficiency cooling unit and updated laser standby mode are said increase energy utilization. Clearly marked maintenance points, easy access locations and instructions are said to improve speed and ease of service.

The laser system’s LensLine feature automatically checks the condition of the focusing lens, increasing its service life and eliminating unnecessary cleaning cycles. The optional AdjustLine function modifies the cutting process using specially developed cutting tables to increase the tolerance for variations in material quality. The optional CoolLine function uses water to remove excess heat created while cutting and is said to improve cutting results when dealing with lower-grade Milling Inserts material.

The system’s updated user interface features dialog-based touch command, and the ergonomic control panel can be adjusted to lighting conditions and the operator’s preferences. A cabinet for accessories such as nozzles, lenses and cleaning sets is located directly below the control console for easy access.
